About Us

School of Isolated and Distance Education Registered Training Organisation

The School of Isolated and Distance Education Registered Training Organisation (SIDE RTO) was established in 2019 to provide Vocational Education and Training (VET) services to schools across Western Australia, regardless of location.

SIDE RTO offers customised solutions to schools to enable students to embark on a VET pathway. Vocational Education and Training is practical, hands on and enables students to gain nationally-recognised qualifications to prepare for further study or develop transferrable workplace knowledge and skills for future employment.

Our service options include Auspice, Full Service and Blended Delivery.

Auspice

Schools partnering with SIDE RTO under an Auspice arrangement will have suitably qualified trainers available to undertake the delivery and assessment at their school. SIDE RTO will provide quality training materials and assessment materials to schools as well as;

  • Access to Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Support from designated school relationship officer
  • Student induction materials
  • Staff inductions and system training
  • Student access to Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) quiz and remediation

Full Service

If you choose to partner with SIDE RTO under our full-service model, our qualified trainers and assessors will take care of all delivery to your students via our Learning Management System (LMS).   Schools will need to ensure students have access to the resources required to successfully undertake online learning and provide supervision in the classroom during the lessons.

Full Service includes:

  • Student access to online Learning Management system
  • Online enrolment and induction
  • All training and assessment materials
  • Student access to LLN quiz and remediation program
  • SIDE RTO trainer and assessor
  • Student progress reports
  • Schools can negotiate a delivery plan and tailored training to suit their school and student needs

Blended Delivery

A blended delivery model allows for some face to face and some online training to occur, which can really suit particular schools and student cohorts.  This is also essential for some courses, where some units are best delivered in a face-to-face environment.

School staff are not required to hold a current TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment to instruct under this model, however, they will need a current trainer presentation skillset.  Assessment can only be undertaken by a SIDE RTO qualified trainer and assessor.

Our team of VET professionals have over 100 years combined knowledge in training, assessment, the VET sector, curriculum design and development, and compliance.  We are happy to answer any questions schools or trainers may have and also offer a range of support services to schools, including health checks, assistance with validations and audit preparation.
